Bears Head to Cullowhee for Clash with Catamounts Friday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team will travel to Cullowhee, N.C. for their final road contest of the season, taking on Western Carolina, this Friday, April 13 at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

Scouting the Catamounts
Western Carolina enters Friday's matchup holding a 9-8 overall record and a 2-4 mark in Southern Conference play. The Catamounts are currently on a three match losing skid, most recently dropping a 5-2 decision at Chattanooga last Saturday (4/7/18). Freshman Carli Deehr has the best win percentage on the team, recording a 7-4 record in singles play this season. Jordan King has played the majority of the season on the No. 1 singles court and is 7-7 on the year. The Catamounts' No. 2 pairing of Lauren McCall and King have tallied a 11-4 mark in doubles play. Western Carolina is led by head coach Michaela Kissell-Eddins who has been at the helm since 2013.

The Bears will return home to host Arkansas State this Sunday, April 15 at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. Sunday's match will serve as Senior Day for the Bears and is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
