Bears Return to Atlanta for Georgia Tech Invitational

MACON, Ga. – Two Bears will represent Mercer in a trio of track events at the Georgia Tech Invitational at George C. Griffin Track on Friday and Saturday.

Alex Williams will compete in the 100-meter dash Friday afternoon before taking on the triple jump at 2 p.m. Saturday. Meanwhile, Madison Mueller will perform in the 400-meter hurdles Saturday afternoon as well.

This is the second time this spring Mercer has competed in a Georgia Tech-hosted meet. The Bears set school records in the 100-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles, 4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay and long jump the last time they were at George C. Griffin Track.

Williams is coming off personal-record performances in both the triple jump (11.09 meters) and 100-meter dash (12.29 seconds) at last week's Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala. Mueller is the program's record holder in the 400-meter hurdles; she ran the event in 1:03.52 at the UNF Spring Break Invitational on March 24.
