Elite Softball Fall Camp at Mercer Coming in September

MACON, Ga. – Mercer Softball Head Coach Stephanie DeFeo announced the 2018 Fall edition of the Elite Softball Camp at Mercer. The camp will take place on Sept. 23 at Sikes Field.

The clinic will consist of four sessions: pitching and catching, hitting/slapping, defense and a game simulation showcase.

The camp is for girls' ages eight to 18 and each session costs $65 with price discounts for multiple sessions. Four sessions will cost $180.

Registration is open now and can be done online at DeFeoEliteSoftballCamps.com or by mailing in the registration forms to the Mercer Softball office.

Pitching and Catching
During the pitching session, pitchers will focus on proper mechanics, work on movement pitches, increasing velocity, and the mental aspects of pitching. Each pitcher MUST bring their own catcher. The catchers' session will include work on the mechanics of receiving, framing, blocking, transitions (throwing), footwork, and how to set up a batter (pitch calling).

Hitting/Slapping
The hitting and slapping session will focus on all aspects of fundamental mechanics including increasing power, bat speed, proper balance and footwork, and the mental aspects of hitting.

Defense (IF/OF)
The defensive session will work on positional breakdown, proper mechanics and footwork, angles, glove work, throwing, and situational instruction.

Game Simulation Showcase
Showcase your entire game. You will be put on teams to play full game speed. Pitching, Hitting, Defense and Base Running. Spots will be limited!

The Elite Softball Camps at Mercer are open to any and all entrants (limited only by age, number, gender and grade level).
