Mercer Softball to Partner with Jay’s HOPE

Mercer will work with Jay’s Hope for both fall tournaments
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Softball squad has announced that it will be partnering with Jay's HOPE for both of its fall tournaments. The Bears are partnering with the organization as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Jay's HOPE primarily works to improve the quality of life of children who are battling cancer as well as the families in Georgia by extending hope through social, emotional, spiritual, educational and financial support. Jay's HOPE offers family events, play therapy, family resource centers, tutorial services, temporary housing and financial assistance.
Mercer will host two fall softball tournaments, Sept. 29-30 and Oct. 6-7. For the first tournament, the Bears will be honoring Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by sporting gold socks and/or gold bows. The Bears will be collecting items to give to Jay's HOPE at each event and kindly ask for your participation. The items will include: children's band-aids, rolls of quarters for vending machines, playdough, small toys to fit in care packages, individually wrapped snacks (i.e. pretzels, animal crackers), personal travel-size toiletry items, new children's pillowcases and more.
