MACON, Ga. – Jordan Strawberry, a four-year letterman for the Mercer men's basketball team, became the latest of Coach Bob Hoffman's former players to sign a professional contract as he will play for the Uralmash Team in the Russian Professional League. The team announced the news on Saturday.
A native of Anaheim, Calif., Strawberry started all 34 games for the Bears last season as a senior and was the team's second-leading scorer (11.8 points per game) and led the club in assists (4.9). He was named to the All-Southern Conference Second Team and helped the Bears to a 19-15 record and a 2018 postseason tournament appearance.
The 6-1, 175-pound guard tallied 1,200 points during his career, which ranks 18th in school history. He also dished out 494 career assists, third-best in program history. Strawberry is one of only three players in Mercer history to score more than 1,000 points and hand out 400 assists during his career.
