Men’s Soccer Heads to UNCG for SoCon Action

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team looks to stay in the win column on Tuesday, Oct. 29 when they travel to Greensboro, N.C. to face UNCG in SoCon action. Mercer is coming off a 4-3 win over Furman on Saturday.

LAST MEETINGS
During the 2018 season, Mercer and UNCG met twice during the season. UNCG defeated the Bears, 1-0, in the SoCon Tournament on Nov. 9. Earlier during the season, the Bears beat the Spartans 3-0 on Oct. 20.

The Spartans enter Tuesday's matchup with the Bears with a record of 6-8-1 on the season and 4-1 in SoCon play. The Spartans currently have the best record in the SoCon. UNCG is coming off a 1-0 victory over ETSU on Saturday, Oct. 26. The only SoCon loss for UNCG came on Oct. 22 at Furman. UNCG has scored 24 goals this year and have three players (Albert Pedra, Micah Albert, and Casey Penland) with five goals apiece. On the 24 goals, they have 18 assists led by Nelson Oceano with four. In goal, Brendan Pulley leads the way with 820 minutes played. He has a goal-against average of 0.99 on the season. He has made 20 saves and recorded one shutout. UNCG is allowing 1.40 goals per game.
