Bears take on Golden Griffins Saturday at Five Star Stadium

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's lacrosse team plays its home opener of the 2019 season Saturday by hosting Canisius College. Start time is set for 1 p.m. (ET) at Five Star Stadium on the Mercer campus.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Bear Tracks
Mercer has dropped its first two games of the season, losing to #14 ranked North Carolina 20-9 in Atlanta on Feb. 2 and most recently losing 13-9 Feb. 9 at the University of Utah … Pascal Coombs paces the Bears' offensive attack with four goals and one assist on the season. Michael Quinn and Will McCarthy have scored three goals apiece. Michael O'Brien has netted two goals and picked up eight ground balls … Coach Kyle Hannan is in his seventh season with the Bears.

Scouting Canisius
Canisius College is located in the suburbs of Buffalo, N.Y. The Golden Griffins are 0-1 on the young season, having dropped a 21-12 decision to Hobart on Feb. 9 … Ryan Cicci, Carter Stefaniak, Isaiah Ricketts and Jacob Buck all scored two goals in the season opener … Coach Mark Miyashita is in his second season at the helm.
