
Bears Fall to South Florida on Saturday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at South Florida Saturday afternoon.
Mercer fell behind early after the Bulls' swept the doubles competition and never bounced back. The Bears' No. 1 seeded Olivier Stuart battled the No. 25 nationally ranked Alberto Barroso-Camp hard but came up short, falling 6-4, 7-6 (3). On court No. 5, Carver Arant forced a super tiebreak but was topped, 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (12-10), by Ivan Yatsuk. Court No. 6 also saw a match go the distance as South Florida's Tobias Sonne beat Piyush Salekar, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4).
UP NEXT
The Mercer men's tennis team will return to action next Tuesday, Feb. 26, as they travel to Athens, Ga. to face the Georgia Bulldogs. Play is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
