Mercer to Honor 2013-14 Basketball Team on Saturday

Members of 2013-14 team will return to campus to be recognized
MACON, Ga. – Mercer University will honor its 2013-14 men's basketball team on Feb. 9 prior to and during the Bears' home game against The Citadel at 4 p.m. in Hawkins Arena.

Members of the 2013-14 team will be back on campus and recognized for their accomplishments, most memorably the victory over the No. 6 Duke Blue Devils in one of the biggest upsets in NCAA Tournament history. March 21, 2019 will mark the five-year anniversary of the historic win in Raleigh, N.C.

A pregame reception will be held from 3-4 p.m. in the President's Dining Room of the University Center. Fans are encouraged to attend the reception and meet with players from the 2013-14 team. All players in attendance will be recognized during halftime of the game.

In addition to the NCAA Tournament win over Duke, Mercer's 2013-14 team went 27-9 overall (14-4 A-Sun) and won the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament title. The Bears captured key regular-season wins against Seton Hall, Valparaiso, Denver and Ole Miss, among others. Langston Hall (Player of the Year), Daniel Coursey (Defensive Player of the Year), Jakob Gollon (Scholar Athlete of the Year) and Bob Hoffman (Coach of the Year) all earned individual A-Sun accolades.
