Bears Lose Close One To The Bulls
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mercer's men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to Buffalo Saturday at the University of North Florida Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.
Mercer fell behind early after dropping the doubles point to Buffalo. The Bulls won two of three of the doubles matches, with Mercer's Olivier Stuart teaming up with Nicolas Guillon to defeat Vilhelm Fridell and Simon Wibler 7-6 (6-4) for the Bears' lone triumph.
Mercer scored victories at three of the singles matches, with Stuart defeating Fridell at No. 1, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1; Guillon beating Ethan Nittolo 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2; and Stathis Tsiranidis knocking off Matthew Johnson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5.
The Bears return to action Saturday, Feb. 23 when they take on the University of South Florida in Tampa.
