Bears’ second meet of the outdoor season will be in Atlanta

ATLANTA – The Mercer women's track and field program will compete in the Georgia Tech-hosted Yellow Jacket Invitational at George C. Griffin Track on Friday and Saturday.

The two-day meet will feature the hammer throw (6 p.m.) and 5000-meter run (9 p.m.) on Friday before the remainder of the events will be held on Saturday, starting with the shot put at 11 a.m. and ending with the 4x400-meter relay at 4:40 p.m.

Mercer got off to a strong start in its outdoor season, winning four events at the Berry College-hosted Victor Ice Breaker Duals on March 2. Of Mercer's winners at the season-opening meet were Cherrish Wright (12.12 in 100 meter), Lauryn Dancy (25.63 in 200 meter), Madison Mueller (59.03 in 400 meter) and the Bears' 4x400-meter relay team – Mueller, Marion Meadows, Tessola Duncan and Kennedi Weston-Shields.
