Track & Field Treks To Florida, North Carolina For Weekend Meets

MACON – The Mercer track & field team will resume its 2026 regular season schedule on Friday and Saturday when the Bears split up their sloth and head to Florida and North Carolina for weekend competition.

The distance squad will compete on Friday at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C., while the sprinters jumpers and hurdlers are slated for Saturday competition at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, Fla.

Fans unable to make the trip here or there can still follow all of the action in progress via live results links provided by both the Duke and USF athletics departments. Competition in Durham is also slated to be broadcast live on the ACC Network.

Mercer will compete in two events on Friday at Duke's Morris Williams Stadium beginning with the 3000m Steeplechase event at 8:35 p.m. The Bears will conclude their stay shortly thereafter with competition in the 5000m Run that is scheduled to get underway at 9:40 p.m.

The Bears will take part in eight events on Saturday at the USF Track & Field Stadium beginning with the Long Jump at 1 p.m. and concluding with the 4x400m Relay discipline at 8:15 p.m.

Mercer will stick close to home next week when the entire squad heads to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invitational.
