Bears Fall to Jacksonville in Nonconference Finale

Mercer falls to Dolphins, 21-6
MACON, Ga. – Mercer (7-9) closed out its nonconference schedule Saturday afternoon with a 21-6 loss to Jacksonville at Five Star Stadium.Â
The contest started with eight consecutive goals by the Dolphins before Mercer's Caroline Kerr found the back of the net with an assist from Katie Martin. Kerr notched her second goal of the game six minutes later to halt a 2-0 run by Jacksonville. The two teams ended the final 9:30 minutes of the half scoring two times each, including goals from Hailey Rhatigan and Eva Thorn.Â
The Dolphins notched their first goal of the second half within three minutes, only to be answered by Rhatigan and Thorn, who each earned their second goals of the game. Mercer was unable to score for the remainder of the game.
NOTABLES
» Hailey Rhatigan, Eva Thorn and Tessa Kerin all notched two assists each. Thorn also registered two goals.Â
» Michaela Lucas registered six ground balls to lead the Bears. The junior also caused two turnovers alongside Audrey Robertson and Katie Martin.
» Catie Snee notched a team-high four draw controls.Â
» Dylan Malamala recorded a career-high nine saves, having played 42 minutes.
