Mercer hosts Delaware State on Senior Day with title hopes on the line

MACON, Ga. – Southern Conference regular season title hopes will be on the line when the Mercer women's lacrosse team hosts Delaware State at noon on Saturday, April 27 at Five Star Stadium.

With a win over the visiting Hornets (1-10, 0-4 SoCon), Mercer (7-9, 3-1 SoCon) can clinch at least a share of its first SoCon regular season title. The Bears are the league's defending tournament champions, but have not earned the SoCon regular season title before.

Saturday's match will also serve as Senior Day for four Bears. Kendall Garrett, Kelly Hagerty, Dylan Malamala and Audrey Robertson will be recognized during a pre-match ceremony on the field.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer has won all three meetings with Delaware State, including a 23-2 victory in Dover, Del. last season.

NOTABLES

Freshman Hailey Rhatigan and senior Audrey Robertson were named the SoCon Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month for March.
Rhatigan currently leads the SoCon in free position goals per game (0.75), goals (55) and goals per game (3.44) and is second nationally in shots per game (9.07) as well in shots on goal per game (6.67).
Robertson leads the league and ranks fourth nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.88) and has 50 total on the season. She is 15th nationally in ground balls per game (3.19) as well.
Mercer leads the conference in goals per game (13.35), shots per game (32.18), shots on goal per game (22.94), caused turnovers per game (11.24), clearing percentage (.811) and ground balls per game (22.00).
Eva Thorn leads the Bears with 18 assists and the league in free position percentage (.647).
Iseabal Cryne ranks 41st nationally in saves (137) and saves per game (8.06).
Michaela Lucas leads the Bears in draw controls, averaging 3.88 per game.

SCOUTING DELAWARE STATE
The Hornets head into Saturday's match without a SoCon win so far this season and have won just one match overall, a 14-11 win against Howard. Olivia Summerville leads the offense with 13 goals for the season and ranks second in the league with 4.27 draw controls per game. Allie St. Pierre defends the pipes with a .282 save percentage and 60 saves this season.
