Kenlie Harvey Named SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer infielder Kenlie Harvey was named the Southern Conference Softball Player of the Week for April 15-21, the league office announced Monday.

The Thomasville, Ga., native recorded three hits in the doubleheader split at Samford last Saturday, two of which were two-run homers – the other was a bunt single. The two long balls were her fifth and sixth of the season, a total that leads the Bears to this point.

Harvey follows Megan Lane (April 8) and Bailey Pattison (April 15) to become Mercer's third player of the week award-winner in as many weeks - the honor is the first of the freshman's career. Harvey and the Bears will host four games at Sikes Field this week, welcoming Alabama State on Wednesday at 4 p.m. before facing off with UNCG in a three-game SoCon set Saturday and Sunday.
