Former Bear standout will represent his country at the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup
MACON, Ga. – Mercer soccer alum Greg Ranjitsingh has been called up to the Trinidad and Tobago senior national team and will represent his native country in the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup, the team announced Thursday.
Â
One of the top goalkeepers in school history, Ranjitsingh started all 81 matches for the Bears from 2011-14. He was named the Southern Conference Goalkeeper of the Year his senior year after being named all-conference three times.
Â
Ranjitsingh left Mercer as the all-time shutouts leader and since has climbed through the ranks of professional soccer in the U.S. – playing three seasons with Louisville City FC (USL) before joining Orlando City SC (MLS) in 2018.
Â
Trinidad and Tobago will begin its journey through North America's premier soccer tournament with its first group stage match on June 18 against Panama. The "Soca Warriors" join the United States, Guyana and Panama in Group D.
