Mercer plays at Evansville Friday and return home to host Alabama State Sunday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's soccer squad travels to Evansville, Ind. to face Evansville on Friday night at 8 p.m. at McCutchan Stadium. Then Mercer returns home on Sunday, Sept. 22 to battle Alabama State at 2 p.m. at Betts Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer is 1-0 against Evansville. Mercer won the lone matchup 8-1. Against Alabama State, the Bears are 2-0 all-time and won the last matchup 7-0 in 2018 over the Hornets.

NOTABLES

Mercer's 36 shots in the Gardner-Webb match are the most by the Bears since recording 37 against Alabama A&M on Aug. 31, 2014.
The 6-1 start to the 2019 season is the best start by a Mercer team since the 2011 season.

SCOUTING THE PURPLE ACES
The Purple Aces are coming off a 2-0 loss to Austin Peay on Sunday, Sept.15. Evansville is led by Krista McKendree, who enters her 12^th season at the helm. The Evansville alum has a record of 73-108-26 leading the Purple Aces. Emily Ormson and Emily Wolak lead the Purple Aces with two goals each. Jayme-Lee Hunter and Maggie Leazer are the only two other Purple Aces with goals and they have one goal each. In goal, the Purple Aces are led by Michaela Till. She has one shutout on the season and is allowing 2.58 goals per game.

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
The Lady Hornets are led by Jodie Smith who enters his 13^th season at the helm. Alabama State enters the weekend with a record of 1-6-0. The Hornets have dropped four straight matches. Prior to playing Mercer, the Hornets host North Alabama. Isabella Beortequi leads the Hornets in scoring with four goals. She is the only player on the roster with multiple goals scored this season. McKenna Wiscombe leads the team with three assists. As a team, the Hornets are allowing 3.92 goals per game.
