Bears finish River Run tied with Gardner-Webb

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mercer men's golf wrapped-up the River Run Intercollegiate with an eighth-place finish among the 15 teams at the event hosted by Charlotte and Davidson at the River Run Country Club Tuesday.

Tyler Copp and Spencer Ball once again paced the group with even-par and plus-three days, respectively – Copp shot 72 in both rounds, while Ball turned in a 73 and a 75.

Coach Kayden's Take
"It was sort of the same story as yesterday, we weren't really consistent off the tee and led to a lot of doubles, triples and quads on the day. If we are going to be as competitive in our league as I think we can be, we are going to have to improve off the tees.

I am really proud of Tyler (Copp), as he finished in the top 15 of the tournament. I am proud of his efforts to lead our team once again this tournament. Spencer (Ball) was also very consistent again – even after a bad hole today, he battled back to turn in a decent round."
