Men’s Soccer Heads to Georgia Southern

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer squad travels to Statesboro, Ga. to face Georgia Southern on Friday at 7 p.m. from Eagle Field – Erk Park. This will be the second straight road match for the Bears and Mercer is 3-1 on the road this season.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
Mercer leads the all-time series 25-24 over Georgia Southern. The Bears came out on top in the last meeting, which happened on Sept. 29, 2018. The Bears defeated the Eagles, 3-1.

Trevor Martineau ranks first in the SoCon in points, points per game, assists and second in goals scored this season. He has 14 points in seven games. He has a SoCon high six assists this season, two came in the win at USC Upstate.

The Eagles are 4-3-0 on the season and are coming off a 3-1 victory over UAB on Tuesday, Sept. 24 in Birmingham, Ala. The win for the Eagles snapped a two-game losing streak. Georgia Southern is led by John Murphy who is in his fourth season. Adam Davie and Alhaji Tambadu who each scored four goals this season. Davie leads the team with 10 points (4 goals; 2 assists). In goal, Jokull Blaengsson has started and appeared in five of the Eagles seven games. He has a goals-against average of 1.80 and has recorded 22 saves on the season.
