
Dimitrijevic Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Dimitrijevic is the lone Bear on the District VI team
MACON, Ga. – Mercer men's basketball player Djordje Dimitrijevic was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District IV Men's Basketball Team, the organization announced Thursday.

Dimitrijevic was one of two SoCon players to earn this honor from the district. The district includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and South Carolina. Mercer, South Carolina, North Florida, Florida State and Wofford all had one selection on the five person team. To view entire all-district team, click here.

"Djordje is an outstanding student and basketball player," remarked head coach Greg Gary. "Not only has he excelled on the on the basketball court, but he's also shined in the classroom. I am happy that he has received this honor."
Dimitrijevic has been putting up career-numbers this season for the Bears. He leads the team in scoring with an average of 17.3 points per game. He is shooting a career-best field goal percentage (43.5), three-point percentage (38.4), and also new career-highs in total assists (95), and rebounds (104).

On January 11th, Dimitrijevic scored a career-high 34 points at Western Carolina. He hit a career-best six three-pointers in back to back games Jan. 15 (VMI) and Jan. 18 (at Samford).
The 2020 Academic All-District® Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The NCAA Division I men's basketball All-America team will be announced on March 9.
