Bears host Wagner for fourth time

SERIES HISTORY
This is the fourth meeting between the Bears and Seahawks. The Seahawks lead the all-time series, 3-0. The last time the two met up was in the 2014 season with Wagner taking the match, 16-5.
ABOUT THE BEARS
Sophomore Ashton Wood ranks second among all NCAA Division I lacrosse players for career faceoff win percentage with a value of 0.658. Sean Goldsmith has averaged 4.67 goals per game, which ranks third nationally. Midfielder JM McCormack registered a career-high four goals against Hampton. Freshman Peter Klueber got his first collegiate start and recorded three saves. Mercer ranks first in the Southern Conference in 11 statistical categories- assists per game, face-off winning percentage, groundballs per game, man-down defense, man-up offense, points per game, scoring defense, scoring margin, scoring offense, turnovers per game, and winning percentage. Colin Kelley leads the SoCon in goals against average with 9.25.
SCOUTING WAGNER
Wagner enters the contest with a 1-3 record on the season. They are coming off a 9-5 loss against Monmouth University. The Seahawks lone win came in a 9-8 contest against LIU. Wagner is ranked third in the NEC in clearing percentage with .855 average. Jake Garb and Tyler Lawton lead the Seahawks with seven goals apiece on the season. Goalie Danny Brady has recorded 37 saves with an 11.41 goals against average. Wagner finished the 2019 season with a 2-12 overall record and went 0-6 in the NEC. Bill McCutcheon enters his second season at the helm of the Seahawks and of his head coaching career. He has an overall record of 3-15.

Mercer will welcome St. Bonaventure for a mid-week matchup on March 4 at Five Star Stadium. The contest is set for 2 p.m.
