Megan Bilgri played on Mercer’s softball team from 2015-18
MACON, Ga. – We all know about the great accomplishments that Mercer student-athletes have achieved during their time as a Bear, but what are they up to after they graduate? Today, we take a look inside former Mercer softball player Megan Bilgri and her career after Mercer.
Bilgri starred in the circle for the Bears from 2015 through 2018, compiling 36 victories in her career which is the fifth-most in program history. She set the tone early in her career with a one-hit shutout against Youngstown State for her first career win on March 14, 2015. Boasting a career ERA of 3.31, the Naperville, Ill., native struck out 185 opposing hitters in 393.2 innings or work.
After landing on the Southern Conference All-Tournament Team as a sophomore, Bilgri earned All-SoCon First Team honors as a junior. She finished the year sporting a 13-7 record with seven complete games and four shutouts. Bilgri led the Bears in wins, ERA (2.25) and complete games in 2017 while ranking second in the conference in ERA, runs allowed (49), earned runs allowed (37) and third in wins.
Bilgri etched her name farther into the program's record book as she tossed Mercer's first perfect game in a 9-0 victory over Drexel on Feb. 23, 2018, retiring all 15 Dragon hitters she faced.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM YOUR TIME WITH MERCER SOFTBALL?
One of my favorite memories will always be renting a house in the Great Smoky Mountains as a team my sophomore year. We spent the days playing softball and the nights exploring the property, singing karaoke, and sitting in rocking chairs on the porch talking about life. It was such an incredible opportunity to truly connect with my teammates and make memories that will last a lifetime.Â
Â
FOR SOME BACKGROUND, WHAT WAS YOUR MAJOR AT MERCER?
I majored in Marketing with a minor in Communications.  Â
Â
HAVE YOU EARNED ANY ADDITIONAL DEGREES (MASTERS, PHD, CERTIFICATES) ETC. SINCE GRADUATING?
No - I was accepted into a master's program (NYU, MS in Integrated Marketing Communications) but did not pursue.Â
 Â
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE SINCE GRADUATING? (LIFE, CAREER ETC.)
Since graduating, I have moved to Charleston, SC and started a career in brand communications. I am currently a Marketing Coordinator at an architecture and interior design firm and primarily focus on branding, graphic design, and digital media.Â
Â
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS FOR THE COMING YEARS?
In the next few years, I have two major goals: Continue working with brands that I'm passionate about, and find a way to give back to the softball community that gave so much to me.Â
Â
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
In 10 years, I hope to be living on the coast, working a job I love, and be surrounded by the people (and dogs) that I care about.Â
