Caroline Taylor played on Mercer’s softball team from 2014-18
MACON, Ga. – We all know about the great accomplishments that Mercer student-athletes have achieved during their time as a Bear, but what are they up to after they graduate? Today, we take a look inside former Mercer softball player Caroline Taylor and her career after Mercer.
Taylor was one of the most prolific sluggers in program history as she is Mercer's all-time leader in home runs (47) and RBI (157). The Alma, Ga., native also ranks second in career walks (97), fifth in slugging percentage (.568) and sixth in on-base percentage (.426). Taylor put together a dominant senior campaign in 2018 by hitting .331 (45-136) with a program-record 16 home runs that tied for the most in the SoCon and 51 RBI. She earned All-SoCon Second Team honors as a sophomore in 2015.
Â
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY FROM YOUR TIME WITH MERCER SOFTBALL?
Singing karaoke with my teammates and coaches on bus rides and road trips.
Â
FOR SOME BACKGROUND, WHAT WAS YOUR MAJOR AT MERCER?
I majored in Psychology and minored in Communication Studies.
Â
HAVE YOU EARNED ANY ADDITIONAL DEGREES (MASTERS, PHD, CERTIFICATES) ETC. SINCE GRADUATING?
I am currently finishing up my Masters in Business Administration online through Mercer.
 Â
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE SINCE GRADUATING? (LIFE, CAREER ETC.)
I moved back to my hometown, and I have been teaching high school math and also coaching the varsity softball team for the last two years. I currently just accepted a new job at our hospital as the Special Projects and Community Health Coordinator. I have stayed involved with softball by working with local travel ball teams and giving hitting/fielding lessons.
Â
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS FOR THE COMING YEARS?
My goals and aspirations for the coming years are to begin my new career at Bacon County Hospital and Health System and continue to work with the local youth to help build the softball talent in South Georgia. I hope to one day coach my own travel ball team.
Â
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?
In 10 years, I see myself continuing to pursue my career in healthcare business. I hope to have my own family and kids to coach and watch play the sports they love just as I did growing up. And of course, still supporting Mercer softball.
