Bears Fall Short to Troy, 69-65.

MACON, Ga.– The Bears fell short in the second half at home in Hawkins against Troy University with the final of 69-65.Â

Mercer (7-6) had four players score in double figures. Mercer was led by Jacksen Greco's career high 18 points on a career high 6-8 shooting performance from deep while playing a career high 24 minutes. Kamar Robertson was right behind him with 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the line, while Jalen Johnson added 11 points and Felipe Haase with 10 points to round out the scoring for the Bears. Victor Bafutto saw a career high 25 minutes for the Bears as Jordan Jones had seven minutes as well as Diego Rivera with three. The Orange & Black will head to South Carolina next with action on Dec. 29 in McAlister Field House at 7 p.m. against The Citadel.Â

Troy (9-4) traded the lead with the Bears five times in tonight's match-up. Nevertheless, in the second half, Troy went 14-of-16 shooting at the line along with key loose ball wins to earn the victory on the night. Desmond Williams had 21 points and two steals as Khalyl Waters had 19 points and seven rebounds. Deen Duke recorded 11 points, three rebounds and one steal. The Trojans earned its fourth straight win on the season. Troy is emulating their previous success they shared in the '03-'04 season with a similar 9-3 start.Â
