MACON, Ga. – In advance of the 2021 softball season, Mercer's Director of Athletics Jim Cole and the athletic administration have announced COVID-19 protocols for fans coming to Sikes Field this season.
TICKET POLICY
Availability is limited to the team pass lists and will be capped at 30 percent capacity. Temperature checks will be conducted for all fans upon entry to Sikes Field. Additionally, fans will be required to wear face masks that fully cover their mouth and nose at all times while at Sikes Field.
Fans are encouraged to follow all the action via live stats or video broadcast when available. Check MercerBears.com for link. General admission walkup tickets will not be available due to COVID-19 practices.
Fans on the Mercer or opponent guest list must provide identification.
SYMPTOM SCREENING
Before attending Saturday's doubleheader or other games at Sikes Field throughout the season, Mercer Athletics asks that fans perform a self-assessment of their COVID-19 symptoms. Fans are asked to stay home if they are experiencing symptoms or feeling ill. Individuals who are at a higher risk for the coronavirus are encouraged to not attend. Symptoms to monitor include the following:
MASKS AND FACE COVERINGS
In order to attend a softball game at Sikes Field, spectators will be required to wear face coverings that fully cover their mouth and nose. Fans must provide their own face coverings and be wearing them before gaining admittance to the facility.
The CDC currently recommends that face coverings not be used by children under the age of two.
SEATING
Socially distanced seating will be enforced. Fans are encouraged to remain in their seats during the game. Seating capacity will be at 30%. Additionally, fans will not be permitted to bring portable chairs or pets into the facility.Â
Fans must follow the directions of game personnel and security at all times.
CONCESSIONS
Pre-packaged concessions items will be available for purchase behind the first base dugout.
RESTROOMS
Restrooms will be available and are also located behind the first base dugout. Social distancing for lines will be enforced.
POST-GAME
Following the conclusion of each game, fans must clear the stadium. In year's past, fans have gathered to wait for the players on the concourse outside of the dugouts. This year, that will not be allowed. Please wait in the parking lot or an alternate location outside of the gate into Sikes Field.
