Elisa Rosado recorded a double and a triple in the game
TROY, Ala. – The Mercer softball team fell in its second game at the Troy Invitational after a 9-1 setback against Austin Peay on Saturday afternoon.

Elisa Rosado paced the Bears offense with a multiple extra-base, legging out a double and a triple while scoring Mercer's only run of the contest. Allie Jones and Adele picked up base knocks in the game as well.
How It Happened
Runs were scarce throughout the early portion of the game as Mercer and Austin Peay were scoreless through the first three innings. The Governors broke through in the fourth inning with a two-run single by Bailey Shorter.

The Bears answered in the top of the fifth when Rosado roped a triple to right center and stole home to cut the deficit in half, 2-1. Austin Peay exploded for seven runs in the home half of the inning, however, highlighted by a three-run homer by Brett Jackson as the Governors walked off with the 9-1 win.
