Mercer Announces 2021 Softball Schedule

Mercer will begin its 2021 season on Feb. 13 against Western Kentucky
2021 SCHEDULE
MACON, Ga. – Mercer Softball Head Coach Stephanie DeFeo announced the schedule for the upcoming 2021 season on Friday morning.
"We're extremely excited about the 2021 season," said DeFeo. "Our girls are hungry this year considering that we had our season cut short in March. I feel like we have a very competitive schedule that will prepare us for conference play. Even through all of our ups and downs with COVID and having to be very flexible this year, I feel like our team is ready to go. We've got some really good returners and some exciting new faces that will be on the field this year."

Mercer's spring slate opens with a five-game home stand with Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 13-14) and Florida A&M (Feb. 17) coming to Sikes Field. The Bears then hit the road for the first time to play in the Troy Invitational (Feb. 19-21) before returning home to host the Black & Orange Challenge (Feb. 26-28).
The Bears welcome Columbus State (March 3) for a midweek doubleheader before heading up to the University of Georgia for the Bulldog Classic (March 5-7). The Orange and Black then host their second tournament of the spring with the Mercer Bears Classic (March 12-14) prior to another midweek twin bill, this time against Georgia Southern (March 17).
Mercer will be on the road for nearly a month following its games against the Eagles as it will be on the road for 12 consecutive games. The team's final tune up before the start of SoCon play will be at the Middle Tennessee Tournament (March 20-21). The Bears' first test in the Southern Conference will be a three-game series at Samford (March 27-28).
The road trip continues the following weekend as the team heads to Durham, N.C., for a non-conference weekend series against N.C. Central (April 1-2). Mercer will stay in the Peach State to close out the string of away games with a midweek doubleheader at Georgia State (April 7).
The Bears return to conference play when Chattanooga (April 10-11) and Western Carolina (April 17-18) come to Sikes Field for a pair of three-game series. Mercer then travels to ETSU (April 24-25) before hosting their final three games of the regular season against UNCG (May 1-2). The Bears wrap up their regular season schedule with three games at Furman (May 8-9).
The Southern Conference Tournament (May 12-15) will be hosted by the highest seed. Â Â
