MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team hits the road for a midweek showdown with Georgia Southern in Statesboro on Wednesday.

Scouting the Eagles
Georgia Southern enters the match with a 9-8 overall record and is riding a three-match winning streak. On Sunday, the Eagles defeated Troy, 4-3, in Sun Belt action. Georgia Southern is 4-2 when playing at the Wallis Tennis Center this season.

As a team, the Eagles are 53-39 in singles action this season and are led by Mila Hartig and Paula Hijos with eight wins each. Paula Boixader with six wins on court one. Nadja Meier has played No. 1 and No. 2 singles and recorded seven wins, six in the second flight and one in the first flight.

The Eagles find themselves with a .479 winning percentage in doubles play. Georgia Southern has used 16 different double teams this season. Charlotte van Diemen and Sophie Wagemaker are 4-4 in playing No. 1 doubles. The four wins are the most on the team.
