Bears Fall to Wofford, 5-2

Mercer returns to action on Wednesday at UNCG
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team returned to action on Monday and fell to Wofford, 5-2, at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
Wofford and took the first match of the day as at No. 1 doubles, 6-1. The Terriers won the doubles point after a 6-1 victory No. 3 doubles. The Bears' No. 2 doubles team of Lauren Rich and Alara Hollyfield won 6-2.
Mercer tied the match at 1-1 when singles play started. Maeva Roquebert recorded the first point for Mercer with a win in the first flight, defeating Jenna Vroman, 6-1, 6-4.
The Terriers bounced back and clinched the match by winning the next three singles matches. Wofford won at No. 5, No. 4, and No. 2 singles to earn the victory.
The second point for the Bears came on court three. Mary Courville got the victory over Liz Massie with a 6-4, 7-6 (5) win.
Wofford's Brittney Wilbur won the final singles match. She took the first set over Kristin Yordanova, but Yordanova bounced back, winning the second set, 6-4. Yordanova dropped the super tiebreaker 10-7.
