Mercer Heads to Georgia Tech and USC

The distance runners will compete Friday night at Georgia Tech while the remaining athletes will compete at South Carolina on Saturday.
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears will run in two meets with the distance runners running at Georgia Tech on Friday, and the remaining athletes competing at South Carolina on Saturday.
Josh Hayman will lead the distance team at Georgia Tech as runners race in the 1500-meter and 5000-meter events. On Saturday, head coach Roosevelt Lofton will coach the non-distance runners at the USC Gamecock Open in Columbia, S.C.

Last weekend, the Bears competed at the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro, N.C., and had five student-athletes set personal bests. Carlandra Jones set the 400-meter program record and also set a PR in the 200-meter dash. Tara Davis (800-meter), Lauryn Dancy (200-meter), Ceylani Rembert (200-meter) and Kennedi Weston-Shields (200-meter) also set new PRs.
