Men's basketball releases full schedule
MACON, Ga. – Men's basketball head coach Greg Gary, commencing his third season at Mercer, announced the schedule for the upcoming 2021-22 season, which includes 15 contests at Hawkins Arena.
"We play a demanding nonconference schedule this year and are excited to take on Arkansas so early on into the season," Gary exclaimed. "That game should be a good evaluation of where we are as a unit. We hope that competition prepares us for the talent that the Peach State offers as well as for playing the several other quality teams within the grueling Southern Conference."
Â
The Orange & Black will play 29 regular season games before the Southern Conference tournament, opening with Fort Valley State on Nov. 3. Followed by two away games, one against last season's AP 10th-ranked Arkansas on Nov. 9 followed up by a trip to South Carolina against Winthrop on Nov. 13.
After the season's first four games, Mercer will head to Mexico for the Cancun Challenge. From there, they will be facing off against Saint Louis (Nov. 20), Bucknell (Nov. 23) and then either Middle Tennessee or Rider (Nov. 24). They end the November gameplay by returning home with Milligan on Nov. 27.Â
