Bears Land Two Pre-Season All-Conference Honors

MACON, Ga. – Leading into the 2022 season, the Southern Conference announced their 2022 Preseason All-Southern Conference Teams. The Mercer Bears had a pair of members represented on the team.

Mercer's Elisa Rosado and Annie Potter both earned recognition.

Rosado was named the Preseason All-Conference First-Team. The power-hitting outfielder hit .281 with 14 RBI in 42 contests. She had 12 doubles. and an on-base percentage of .342. Once on base, she stole eleven bases. Rosado led the league in triples during her freshman season.

Potter was named the Preseason All-Conference Second Team. Potter hit .274 with 18 RBI in 46 contests. She had seven doubles, and an on-base percentage of .328. Once on base, she stole six bases.

Mercer and Samford tied for fourth in the preseason poll with 18 points each. The Bear finished 24-23 on the season and 8-9 in conference play in 2021.

Rosado, Potter and the rest of the Mercer Bears will kick off their 2022 campaign on Friday, February 11 at 12:30 PM against Loyola Chicago in Tallahassee, Florida.
