Bears to face Bison in Saturday showdown
MACON, Ga. – After dispatching Bellarmine in the season opener, the Bears will turn their attention to Bucknell in the second game of the young season tomorrow morning at Five Star Stadium.

Series History
This is the first-ever meeting between Mercer and Bucknell.
Scouting Mercer
A week ago, Taylor Dooley and Carl Klepper led Mercer's offense with three points apiece as Mercer took down Bellarmine, 9-4, in the opener. Dooley totaled two goals and an assist while Klepper tallied a goal and a pair of assists in the effort. Ashton Wood, an all-SoCon preseason nominee, claimed 86.7% (13-for-15) of the faceoffs to kick start the offense for the Orange & Black. Wesley Chairs and Garrett LeClaire combined to cause five turnovers while Wood claimed nine ground balls.
In the cage, Colin Kelley stopped six shots from the Bellarmine attack throughout the hour of action, picking up the season's first win.
The Bears used six unanswered (five in the third quarter) to separate themselves from the Knights.
Scouting Bucknell
Saturday will serve as the season-opener for the Bison. In an abbreviated 2021 season, they finished the slate with a 2-6 record and a 1-5 mark in the Patriot League. Alston Terry, a senior attacker, leads the Bison and paced the team in assists for the past two seasons.
