Mercer downs Alabama State in Sunday showdown
MACON, Ga. -Â On Sunday afternoon at the Leroy Peddy Tennis Center, Mercer snapped a losing steak with a resounding 6-1 win over visiting Alabama State.
Mercer quickly took control of the match by taking all three doubles matches for the day's first points, including a 6-2 win on Court 2 from Samuel Macleod and Samuel Barrow.
The Bears clinched the match and then some by five of the six singles matches for the 6-1 win.
Four of the five wins came in straight sets - including from Lucas Wayenburg, David Georgadze, Marceau Foulihoux and Barrow - at Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5.
