Bears Eager to Play After Sunday’s Rainout

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's soccer team gets back into action Friday Sept. 9 hosting the South Carolina Bulldogs of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Kick off at Betts Stadium is 6 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
This will be the third all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and the Bears. Mercer has won each of the previous matches, 5-0 in 2016 and 6-0 in 2017.

NOTABLES

The Bears saw their four match unbeaten streak to start the season end in a 1-0 loss at Troy on Sept. 4. The Bears last game against North Florida was cancelled at halftime due to weather, and was ruled no contest. The Bears led 2-1 at the time.
In five straight games, the Bears, have surrendered just one goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Lindsay Bell has played all five games for the Bears.
Mercer had the first two SoCon Offensive Players of the Week, Kendall Cook (Aug. 23) and Jada Moorman (Aug. 30).
The Bears have outscored their opponents 12-5. Eight different players have scored for Mercer. Moorman leads the team with three goals.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs feature a roster with 13 freshmen. Coach Patrick Horne is in his second year at the Bulldog helm. It has been a challenging start to the season for South Carolina State which has been outscored 36-1 in its six losses.
