Bears Set for Season Opener at Kennesaw State

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis program opens the 2023 season on the road against Kennesaw State on Monday, January 16.

SCOUTING KENNESAW STATE
Monday will be the season opener for both teams and the third-straight season the programs match up. KSU competed at the Mercer Gridiron Classic in the fall where multiple players earned wins against the Owls. Eden Schlagenhauf defeated Taylor Dean 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of singles. Marina de Diego Quinones claimed a quarterfinals win over Sophia Unger 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.

Kennesaw State finished sixth in the ASUN regular season standings last year and qualified for the conference tournament but fell in the first round to North Florida. The Owls posted a 14-7 overall record and 4-5 ASUN record.
