MACON, Ga. –The Mercer Men's soccer team will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina to battle Southern Conference rival UNCG on Saturday, October 21 at 7 p.m. ET.

SERIES HISTORY | LAST MEETING
This will be the 22nd meeting between these two programs. Mercer is currently 6-13-2 against UNCG. The last time these two programs met was in the Southern Conference Final, where the Spartans would come away with a 2-1 victory over the Bears.
LAST TIME OUT
Mercer moves to 5-3-6 on the season following a 1-1 draw against Lipscomb. The first half would have many opportunities for both the Bears and the Bison; however, no one could finish the ball in the back of the net. The Bears and Bisons would be tied 0-0 heading into the half. The second half began with a bang in the 47th minute when graduate midfielder Omar Hernandez took a quick throw-in into the feet of cutting Kadeem Agard, who played a low crossing ball that found the foot of Carlos Santamaria who buried the shot into the bottom left corner of the goal. However, the Bison would earn a penalty kick and score the equalizer in the 53rd minute. Â

Last season UNCG finished 14-3-1 and went 8-1-0 in the Southern Conference play.
Throughout fourteen games this season, the Spartans are 1-9-4 and 0-2-1 in Southern Conference play. The Spartans are coming off a 1-1 draw with Wofford on Saturday, October 14. Prior to the start of the 2023 season, the Spartans were ranked No. 7 on College Soccer News Preseason Top 30 Polls.
