Parker Leads Men’s Golf On Day 2 Of Daniel Island Intercollegiate

DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Senior Jonathan Parker carded a 1-over-par 73 to lead the way for the Mercer men's golf team on Monday, but the Bears were unable to make any headway on the team leaderboard and remain in 17^th place heading into the final round of the Daniel Island Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Parker (+3) tallied four birdies on Tuesday at the 7,332-yard, par-72 Ralston Creek Course in southeast South Carolina, and made a climb up the individual leaderboard into a six-way share of 40^th place alongside teammate Jay Spivey. Senior Gustav Sjoberg (+7) is among a four-way tie for 62^nd place after Tuesday's round, while freshman Charlie Fischer (+15) and sophomore Connor Holcroft (+18) are in 89^th and 95^th place, respectively.

Middle Tennessee State (-8) combined for a 3-under-par 285 team score on Tuesday to extend its lead in the team standings, while South Carolina (-7) is second and VCU (-5) is third. The Bears (+28) are 36 strokes off of the pace established by the Blue Raiders.

Tee times for Tuesday's final round at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate are scheduled to commence at 8 a.m.
