QUOTES
"I'm really proud of the team this week," said Mercer women's golf head coach Michele Drinkard. "We really put the emphasis on making a lot of birdies this week, which we did. We did have some errors out there that we need to clean up. Our short game needs to get a little bit better, but we are excited for the way we closed out our fall. This is a really close-knit team. Just a big group of sisters together who care so much for each other."
"We worked really hard," said Camilla Järvelä. "We've been practicing the past two weeks, have had two tournaments and pushed through with lots of birdies. I'm very proud of us pushing through."
Tracy Rodriguez thinks the team is steadily improving and believes they can keep the low scores coming. "We had a lot of birdies on the board. We had consistent scoring, that means that we are improving," said Rodriguez.
The Bears will now prepare for their challenging 2024 spring schedule. "We have a very strong and competitive spring schedule playing against some great fields at some really great golf courses and it's going to be a lot of fun!" said Katie Scheck.
Two big events on Mercer's spring schedule include tournaments in Puerto Rico and Hawaii. The Bears are very much looking forward to competing in two unique environments.
"To have these two special events on our calendar is very exciting and motivating for myself and the team," said Eujin Pyon. "We've got some areas we need to improve on. We are ready to work and really excited for our spring schedule."
