Women's Soccer Makes Trip Up To VMI For Thursday Night

MACON, Ga. - The Mercer women's soccer team heads up to Lexington, Virginia to play VMI on Thursday evening at 4 p.m.

Mercer leads the all-time series 7-1-1. Mercer won the meeting between the two teams last year in Macon, 5-0.

LAST TIME OUT
Keelin Pray scored a spectacular goal off her left foot in the 52nd minute to lift Mercer past ETSU 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Betts Stadium.
It was Pray's first goal of the season and came from a Jada Moorman assist to put the Bear's up 1-0. The goal ended ETSU's streak of six consecutive shut outs spanning over 600 minutes of game action.
ETSU entered the game unbeaten in its last six (4-0-2) and in first place in the SoCon standings through three games of conference play.
After Pray's goal made it 1-0 in the 52nd minute, ETSU pushed hard to find the tying goal, hitting the crossbar in the 61st minute. Less than a minute later, ETSU midfielder Sinoxolo Cesane forced Mercer's Lindsay Bell to make a great leaping save to preserve the Bears' lead.
SCOUTING VMI
VMI enters Thursday's game at 2-11-0 overall. They are coming off their first conference win of the season on Sunday when they defeated The Citadel 3-2. It was just the second game this season in which they scored more than one goal in a game.
The Keydets have struggled to score this season, as they have just nine goals in 13 games this season, the fewest in the SoCon. They average 9.54 shots per game also the fewest in the conference.
VMI's leading goal scorer is sophomore Sedona Dancu who has three goals on the season.
