SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday's game between Mercer and Georgia Tech is the 23rd all-time meeting between the two schools. Georgia Tech leads the series 16-6. The two teams last met in 2016.
SCOUTING GEORGIA TECH
Georgia Tech is coming off a 13-17 season in 2022-23. The Yellow Jackets went 4-14 in conference play. The Yellow Jackets were picked to finish 12th in the 15-team league (ACC) in the preseason media poll.
In four years with Nell Fortner at the helm, the Yellow Jackets have reached the NCAA Tournament twice (2022 and 2021). Tech made consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the Yellow Jackets made seven-straight appearances from 2007- 2014, and reached the Sweet 16 in 2021 for just the second time in program history.

Georgia Tech's leading scorer is sophomore guard Tonie Morgan who is averaging 16.3 points per game. She is shooting 48.6% from the field. Kayla Blackshear is Georgia Tech's second leading scorer and leading rebounder as she averages 14.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT
In a tightly contested game for most of the way, the Mercer Bears were able to come away with a 78-75 double overtime win at home over Austin Peay last Saturday.
The Bears were 7-for-14 from three-point range which was the Bears' most efficient game from behind the arc this season.
Two statistical advantages the Bears had in the game that helped them earn the win was offensive rebounds and free throw attempts. Mercer had 16 offensive rebounds to the Governor's 10 and Mercer had nearly twice as many free throw attempts as the Bears went 19-for-27 from the line and Austin Peay 7-for-14.
