MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis program (5-4) handed Georgia College (4-1) its first loss of the season with a 4-3 win on Wednesday afternoon at the Randy Stephens Tennis Center.
Mary Weston Courville/Teodora Ristic and Camilla Ciaccia/Eden Schlagenhauf each won 6-4 in doubles while Marina de Diego Quinones/Kristin Yordanova claimed a 7-5 doubles win to sweep doubles play.
With her sixth singles win of the season, de Diego Quinones claimed the first singles point with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court five. Ristic finished next, also with a 6-1, 6-2 victory on court one to give the Bears a 3-0 lead.
Courville earned the clinching point for Mercer with a 7-5, 6-2 win on court two.
UP NEXT: Mercer remains at home for a matchup with Lipscomb on Saturday, February 25 at 10 a.m.
