Mercer Welcomes Manhattan In Sunday Contest

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's lacrosse team, coming off two wins in Washington D.C., returns home to host Manhattan on Sunday from Five Star Stadium.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday's game will be the first ever meeting between Mercer and Manhattan.

LAST TIME OUT
The Mercer women's lacrosse team scored a season-high 19 goals, led by Shannon Urey's six goals to power past George Washington 19-7 on March 7.

The Bears outshot George Washington 36-17, and had 10 different goal scorers.

Mercer took advantage of its man-up opportunities scoring seven goals with an extra attacker.

Mercer also won the draw controls 22-8. Erin Degnan had a season-high 11 draw controls and two ground balls to go with three goals.

Shannon Urey's six goals were a game-high as she now has scored at least three goals in all four games to begin the season.

Maddi Koury was also one of three Mercer players to score a hat trick in the game and she also had one assist to go with her three-goal afternoon.

Mercer goalie Kate Vanderlinde made seven saves with a .500 save percentage.

SCOUTING MANHATTAN
Manhattan enters Sunday's game with a 3-4 record and is on a three game losing streak.

Manhattan has been outscored 81-65 over the course of their seven games this season. The Jaspers are averaging 25.6 shots per game to their opponents 27.0 shots per game.

Manhattan has been good in draw controls, where they have a 98-74 advantage over their opponents. Senior defender Andrea Liotta leads the Jaspers with 42 draw controls.

Manhattan has three players with at least 12 goals led by senior attacker Jillian Reiner who has 13 goals.

Manhattan's starting goalie Ashley Gambardella, has an 11.41 goals against average and a .444 save percentage on the year.
