MONTRÉAL, Canada. – CF Montréal, a team in the MLS, has signed Mercer's own Ousman Jabang after selecting him in the Third Round of the MLS Super Draft in December.
Ousman has signed through the remainder of the 2023 year and has three option years from 2024 to 2026.
Ousman became the second player under head coach Brad Ruzzo to be drafted in the MLS Super Draft. During his junior season,  Jabang started all 18 games and tallied two goals and seven assists, and helped Mercer win the 2021 SoCon Conference tournament. Following the tournament Jabang received recognition for his play for the bears and was named to the 2021 First-Team All-SoCon and was named to the NCAA DI Men's All-South Region Third Team. During Jabang's senior year, he added two more goals and five assists and was named to the 2022 SoCon All-Tournament Team.
Coach Brad Ruzzo had the following comment about CF Montréal signing Ousman Jabang:
"Ousman has worked hard during his four years at Mercer and really developed his game throughout his time with our program. However, he was always a team player and cared more about winning and doing what is best for the program. During his time, we went to two NCAA tournaments, won two conference tournament championships, and appeared in three conference finals and much of that was due to his ability to drive our team forward. We are all very proud of him and look forward to watching his journey in the MLS professional league."
The defender scored six goals, had 12 assists, and helped earn 17 shutouts in the 36 games he played for the Bears.
