Grace Taylor Named SoCon Pitcher of the Week

Spartanburg, S.C – Grace Taylor was named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in Mercer's 2-1 win against Furman this past weekend. The selection was made by the league office.

"Grace Taylor has been an absolute competitor in the circle these past few weeks," said assistant coach Courtney Gettins. "Her work ethic, passion and determination to win is all reason as to what makes Grace so special."

Taylor pitched sixteen innings with only four runs given up, only two of which were earned. She held a 2-0 record on the weekend with a 1.12 ERA. Taylor is second in the conference for innings pitched (130) and saves (2). She is also ranked third for batters struck out looking (22).

The Florida native is in her first season at Mercer. She attended University High School and was named pitcher of the year in her senior season.
