Bears Go 3-0 at the Bears Beach Bash

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Beach Volleyball team went 3-0 on the day at the Bears Beach Bash on Wednesday, April 4.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4
UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT CHATTANOOGA | 8:00 AM
The Mercer Bears defeated to UTC 3-2 in their first match of the day.
Lexi Polychrones and Jordan Paddock defeated UTC's Clark and Courtright in a two-set match. The score of the first set was 21-14, and the score of the second was 21-15. Nicole O'Mara and Kate Hardie defeated UTC Faychak and Lecik in two straight sets. The score of the first set was 21-14 and the score for the second set was 21-18. Sydney Benson and Jordyn Thomas-Warren would battle to three sets against UTC Morris and Davis. The score of the first set was 21-19 in favor of the bears. The score of the second was 21-23, and the score of the final set was 9-15 in favor of UTC. Kathryn Corbett and Alyssa Scoggins would battle and be defeated in a close match against UTC Olson and Frigaard in three sets. The score of the first was 21-14 and the score of the second set was 12-21. UTC would take the final set by a score of 13-15. Reese Hood and Hollis Engel would win in two sets against UTC Myers-Osband and Gresham. The score of the first set was 21-13 and the score of the second set was 21-8.
ERSKINE COLLEGE | 2:00 PM
The Mercer Bears defeated to Erskine 5-0 in their second match of the day.
Polychrones and Paddock would defeat Erskine's Browne and Browne in two sets. The score of the first set was 21-11 and the score of the second was also 21-16. O'Mara and Hardie would beat Erskine's McKean and Petrovich in two sets. The score of the first set was 21-19 and the score of the second set was 21-13. Benson and Thomas-Warren would win their match against Erskine's Gaston and Preston in two sets. The score of the first set was 21-14 and the score of the second set was 21-16. Corbett and Scoggins would defeat Erskine's Smith and Phenicie. The score of the first set was 21-13 and the score of the second set was 21-19. Engel and Hood would beat Erskine's Carter and Cackett in three sets. The score of the first set was 21-12 and the score of the second set was 19-21. The score of final match was 15-9 in favor of the Bears.

The Mercer Bears defeated to Berry 4-1 in their final match of the day.
Polychrones and Paddock would defeat Berry's Breissigner and Boston in two sets. The score of the first set was 21-16 and the score of the second set was 21-17. O'Mara and Hardie would battle against Berry's Hulsman and Schmit in two sets. The Bears would take the first set by a score of 21-18 and the score of the second set was 21-11. Benson and Thomas-Warren would be defeated by Berry's Innis and Mallow in two sets. The score of the first set was 21-10 and the score of the second set was also 21-0. Corbett and Scoggins would defeat Berry's Aten and Teagle by a score of 21-13 in the first set of their match. The score of the second set was 21-9. Engel and Hood would defeat Berry's Bergin and Underwood in two sets. The score of the first set was 21-16 and the score of the second set was 21-18.
