
Mercer Falls to ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Mercer women's tennis team (10-8, 3-2) was overcome by ETSU (14-6, 4-0), 6-1, on Thursday morning. Mary Weston Courville won the lone point for the Bears, notching her fifth-straight singles win.
Courville went 2-0 on the day after winning doubles on court one with Teodora Ristic. The duo defeated Laylo Bakhodirova and Mariya Shumeika, 6-3, for their team-leading 11th doubles win of the season.
In singles, Ristic went to three sets with seven-time Southern Conference Player of the Week, Bakhodirova, on court one. Ristic won the second set but fell overall 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. Courville earned her singles victory on court two 7-5, 1-6, 6-1 against Shumeika.
UP NEXT: Mercer will host Alabama State in a rescheduled match on Sunday, April 9 at 10 a.m.
