Bears Split ETSU Doubleheader

JOHNSONCITY, TN. – Bears split doubleheader after 12 inning battle and 8-2 victory. Â
How It Happened
GAME ONE
    Kylie Helm and Tori Hedgecock both walked to start the game but were left on. ESTU struck first in the bottom and held the Bears in the second. Mercer juiced the bases in the top of the third after Hedgecock singled to left field as she advance Bailey Ledvina and Helm. All were left on. Nothing happened for either in the fifth.
    Ledvina singled and Parris Wiggs stepped in to pinch run stealing a base. Hedgecock walked to joining her. Morgan Hall singled to bring Wiggs home. Kassidy Moore was hit by pitch to bring Hedgecock home. Bears finished the fifth leading 2-1. ETSU struck in the seventh to tie the game at 2. Neither team would get on the board until the 10th where Moore doubled to bring home Hedgecock. Nothing happened in the 11th and ETSU would take it in the bottom of the 12th 4-3.Â
GAME TWO
    Not much happened in the first. Tori Hedgecock homered to left field to get Mercer on the board first. Alyssa Woods singled and was advanced by Rebeca Laudino. Ledvina singled to advance Woods. Helm brought Woods home and a double from Moore brought Ledvina home. Mercer finish the third leading 3-0. Avery Barton would reach on a error to start the fourth. Woods singled to left field to bring Barton home.Â
    ETSU got on the board in the fifth to trail 1-4. Barton tripled and was brought home with a single from Wilkerson. Woods singled and stole to second. A single from Laudino brought Wilkerson home and she was joined by Woods after being advanced by Ledvina. Laudino stole and advanced all the way to third after a wild pitch. She reached home on a error to bring the score 8-1. ETSU would pick up one more run but it would not be enough.Â
