Bears Secure First Win Against Southern Indiana

MACON – The Mercer Bears defeated the University of Southern Indiana, 2-0 on Sunday afternoon from Strassweg Field in Evansville, Indiana.

Mercer moves to 1-1-0 on the season, while Southern Indiana moves to 0-2-0 on the season. Freshmen forward, Barzee Blama would score his second collegiate goal in his second game for the Bears. In the 16th minutes, Blama would win a jump ball against Southern Indiana goalkeeper, the ball would fall to his feet and he would find the back of the net. Sophomore midfielder Fernando Arteaga would capitalize off a mistake from Southern Indiana's defenders in the 69th minute and would increase the Bears lead to 2-0.
