OREM, UTAH. –The Mercer Bears tied Utah Valley University 0-0 on Saturday night at Clyde Field in Orem, Utah.

Mercer moves to 4-1-4 on the season, while Utah Valley moves to 1-4-2 on the season. The Bears defense showed out tonight against the Wolverines, Fullbacks Natnael McDonald and William Pondeca were an important part to the success of the defense on Saturday night. Along with the fullbacks, center defenders Sekou Agard and Chad Eldridge were winning many balls out of the air and making huge tackles that slowed the Wolverines players down. The best opportunity for the Bears came in the 72nd minute off the right foot Carlos Santamaria. Santamaria's 25-yard shot deflected off the crossbar and hit the back of the Utah Valley goalkeeper and deflected of the post back into the goalies hands. The Bears continued to pressure the Wolverines, up until the final whistle.
